SIM Card Registration Offenses and Penalties

The SIM Card Registration Act details the penalties for violations ranging from Php 100,000 to Php 1 Million. Here are the offenses, fines and penalties under the SIM Card Registration Act.

Providing false information, using fictitious identities, or fraudulent documents to register

  • Imprisonment from 6 months to 2 years
  • Php 100,000 to Php 300,000 fine

Sale or Transfer of registered SIM without complying with registration/transfer procedures

  • Imprisonment for 6 months to 2 years
  • Php 100,000 to Php 300,000 fine

Spoofing a registered SIM

  • Imprisonment of noless than 6 years
  • Php 200,000 fine

Failure or Refusal to register a SIM

  • 1st offense: Php 100,000 to Php 300,000 fine
  • 2nd offense: Php 300,000 to Php 500,000 fine
  • 3rd offense: Php 500,000 to Php 1,000,000 fine

Sale of stolen SIM Card

  • Imprisonment from 6 months to 2 years
  • Php 100,000 to Php 300,000 fine

Breach of confidentiality

  • Php 500,000 to Php 4,000,000 fine
