Mobile Services Suspended in Manila Due to Traslacion

The Feast of the Black Nazarene is celebrated every January 9, after a nine-day novena. Wherein there will be a procession that starts from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church that draws more than a million devotees all over the country to Manila. While others that stay at home, watched for the updated news and checked out their social media accounts. Unfortunately, as an order requested by Philippine National Police (PNP) in compliance with a directive from National Telecommunication Commission, mobile services where the black Nazarene will pass on will be temporary suspended.

As part of the safety measures, two major telecommunications company Globe Telecom Inc. and Smart Communications Inc. said that there will be no mobile services in the immediate vicinity until the image of the Black Nazarene returns to Quiapo Church. Subscribers along the procession may not be able to access call, text and mobile data services while the suspension of the services is in effect. Globe, TM, Talk n’ Text and Sun users will also experience mobile signal loss they also include Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Makati and customers nearby areas like Cavite may also have service disruptions. As some of us may be having some questions why to suspend the service temporary is to prevent any improvised explosive devices that can be done remotely.

It seems that only Globe Telecom Inc. give a heads up to their subscribers before the procession about the suspension. Not only they announced it thru social media but they also send out text message advisories to their customers. This is a way to let their customers be aware and ready for anything that might happen without their mobile phones.

All mobile services were back to normal as there was an order lifted from National telecommunications commission by the go signal from the authorities.
