Smart Makes Major Upgrades on its LTE Service

In the year 2018 we are expecting a lot of great improvement and changes that might happen to everything around us, especially when it comes to our internet services. Before closing the year of 2017 PLDT wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART) is making a major improvements on their service upgrading more than 4,200 3G and sites across the country. Not only it will improve the coverage and quality of service for calls, text and mobile internet.

As the National Telecommunications Commissions main objective for this year is to meet 90 percent municipality coverage for 3G and 4G mobile broadband and impressively they are already almost at 89 percent as stated by Joachim Horn chief technology and information advisor for PLDT and Smart.

This LTE rollout is part of wide-ranging effort to improve the overall quality service available for more than millions Smart, TNT, and Sun subscribers. And for this big changes they’ve already undergo internal tests to some areas in Metro Manila. For the benefit of their customers they made a second wave of upgrades for Smart’s LTE sites- four-component carrier aggregation or 4CC. The first upgrade is in some parts of Marikina for having a much higher capacity and a higher speed of more than 100 mbps.
